GLS provides legal services to help clients maintain financial and income stability, addressing issues in three main areas: Consumer Law, Elder Law, Public Benefits, Obtaining identification through our Birth Certificate Program (Pinellas County) and tax related matters through our Low Income Tax Payer Clinic (LITC).

  • “Florida Real ID Act of 2005—gold star on license or ID, the following documentation is required for compliance:
    • Proof of citizenship (birth cert, passport, etc.)
    • Proof of all legal name changes (marriage cert, divorce decree, name change orders, etc.)
    • Social Security number (SS card, W-2 or 1099 form, military ID, etc.)
    • Residential address (deed/mortgage, vehicle registration, utility bill, etc.)
  • Legal assistance if you have lost your birth certificate or need to make updates
    • Across U.S. and abroad
    • Incorrect name or spelling of a name
  • “Delayed Certificate of Birth” if you never had a birth certificate (ex: born at home to a midwife)
